HMRC drops advisory fuel rates

Date: 14 June 2013   |   Author: Tristan Young

HMRC has published new advisory fuel rates to be used from 1 June 2013. The rates for company cars, assessed quarterly, are either static or lower than those announced on 1 March.

While diesels over 2.0 litres see no change at 18p per mile, both diesels between 1.6 and 2.0 litres and those with engines of less than 1.6 litres drop by 1ppm to 14p and 12p a mile respectively.

Petrol-powered cars see similar changes. Cars with 1.4-litre engines or smaller stick at the former rate of 15ppm. However, the larger engines bands both drop by a penny per mile.

See the table below for the full list of current AFR rates.
