Jon Jacks - Honda's national leasing and SMR manager

Honda has launched an online service, maintenance and repair system for the leasing and fleet industry that gives firms access to full SMR costs for the entire Honda range, with models dating back to 2001.

Jon Jacks, national leasing and SMR manager for Honda, said: "This new SMR online solution has been designed to deliver critical aftersales data in the right form, to the right people.

"This is a vital process to ensure we are in the right position within each leasing and fleet company's pricing model for service maintenance and repair costs."

The carmaker is also rolling out the Honda Fleet Promise, which offers a package covering vehicle service, MoT and maintenance requirements, with standard charge rates.

The rates will be competitive, according to Honda, and adds value with services such as a complimentary courtesy car, collection and delivery, and free wash and vacuum.

Meanwhile, the Scottish Ambulance Service has ordered more than 20 fourth-generation CR-Vs having taken on 40 of the previous generation version over the past 24 months.

The Welsh Ambulance Service has also put the third-generation CR-V to work, having enlisted more than 30 during the last year.

Honda said its new CR-V, powered by a 2.2-litre i-DTEC diesel engine, makes an excellent first response vehicle for 999 services due to its car-like dynamics and all-wheel drive system, which enables it to access remote locations in adverse weather.
