Hyundai appoints Martin Wilson as new fleet director

Date: 22 January 2013   |   Author: Rachel Burgess

Hyundai Motor UK has appointed Martin Wilson to the newly created role of fleet director, which reflects the brand's growing involvement in the company car sector.

Wilson will be responsible for all Hyundai's fleet operations including contract hire, remarketing, government contracts and fleet sales.

He began his career with Lombard Motor Finance before moving on to Jaguar where he was a corporate sales manager prior to joining Hyundai in 2007.

His positions have included regional corporate sales manager, regional franchising manager, regional sales manager, European Fleet sales manager at Hyundai Motor Europe, and latterly National Fleet sales manager.

Wilson said: "We have seen a 40% uplift in fleet sales last year compared with 2011, making Hyundai the fastest-growing fleet manufacturer in the fleet sector in 2012."

Tony Whitehorn, Hyundai Motor UKs boss, said: "By introducing this new role it demonstrates to our current and potential fleet customers that we are growing as a major player in the UK fleet market."

Wilson will report to Guy Pigounakis, senior executive sales director.
