Hyundai boosts fleet operation

Date: 08 March 2013

Hyundai is looking to ramp up its fleet operation by rolling out up to 30 new business specialist centres across its existing dealer network.

The firm has also boosted its presence in the public sector by adding additional resource to its emergency service and law enforcement fleet sales and would be appointing a new contract hire and leasing manager imminently. It has developed a new fleet section on its website, too.

Fleet director Martin Wilson said: "Our strategy for this year is to improve every aspect of our fleet offering and we will be looking to provide accredited training to dealership staff and fleet sales managers on Hyundai Contract Hire and Business User Sales. The ultimate aim is provide a complete service to attract new customers and retain existing partners through high levels of customer satisfaction."

This comes as the company reports its best ever fleet sector market share of 3.9% and a hike of 40% for its business sector performance in 2012 over 2011's figures. The growth is largely attributed to the launch of eight new models in the UK last year.

Hyundai has also scored a 50-car contract with food production and distribution firm Peter's Foods. Based in Caerphilly, South Wales, the company has signed up to replace its entire fleet with the Korean manufacturer's models including i30s and i40s.
