Hyundai signs up to London hydrogen scheme

Date: 02 May 2013   |   Author: Jack Carfrae

Hyundai has joined the London Hydrogen Partnership which will see the firm share its fuel cell vehicle experience with fellow scheme members and promote the use of hydrogen vehicles, with a view to establishing a proper fuelling infrastructure in the capital and beyond.

The programme has already instigated £50m worth of projects, including hydrogen buses, taxis, scooters and filling stations among other advances.

The city's deputy mayor and LHP chair, Kit Malthouse, said: "Members. will develop a plan for fuel cell vehicles, and will plan the hydrogen refuelling station rollout across London.

"Hyundai will provide invaluable insights and bring global experience to the mayor's innovative 'smart' low carbon, low emission transport activities.

"This partnership will help to continue placing London's economy at the forefront of science and innovation.''
