Infiniti reveals concept rival to Audi A3

Date: 05 September 2013

Infiniti has revealed first pictures of its premium compact Q30 concept, the preview to the smallest vehicle yet in its range that's due to go on sale in 2015.

Expected to rival the Audi A3, BMW 1-series and Mercedes A-class, as well as the BMW X1, Audi Q3 and forthcoming Mercedes GLA, the Nissan-owned carmaker said the design merges "the dynamic design and sportiness of a coupe, the roominess of a hatch and the higher stance of a crossover".

The car is aimed at younger customers seeking an alternative to traditional premium compact vehicles," said Infiniti, that are "open to convention-challenging approaches".

The production version, which will be built at Nissan's Sunderland plant, also aims to reflect Infiniti's goal to deliver new levels of materials, fit and finish.
