Skoda has revealed prices and specifications for the cleanest and most economical versions of the lower medium Rapid and the Rapid Spaceback (a compact hatchback version of the same model).
Each one is powered by an identical 90hp 1.6-litre TDI diesel engine, which emits 99g/km and returns an official 74.3mpg in both guises. The cars will bear the Greenline moniker - Skoda's sub-brand delineating the lowest-emitting and most frugal variants in the range.
Prices start at £17,535 for the Rapid Greenline and £17,195 for the Rapid Spaceback, with first deliveries due in early 2014.
Standard equipment includes 15-inch alloy wheels with low rolling-resistance tyres, front fog lights, tinted glass, heated door mirrors and air-conditioning.
