Date: 02 October 2013   |   Author: Tristan Young

Lex Autolease, the UK's largest leasing firm has promoted Guy Mason to head of fleet services.

Mason has worked in the leasing industry for 28 years in a variety of roles including head of sales and marketing at Lex and head of corporate sales at HSBC Finance. His most recent role was running Lex's northern sales team.

In his newly created position, Mason will be responsible for the service, maintenance and repair of vehicles within Lex Autolease's 270,000-strong fleet.

Tim Porter, managing director at Lex Autolease, said: "Guy is a well-respected figure within the business and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our senior operating committee. As head of fleet services, he will have a pivotal role in keeping vehicles on the road, which is essential in minimising downtime and reducing costs for UK businesses."

Meanwhile, Lex has scored a new fleet deal that sees it providing vehicles for coffee shop chain Caffe Nero. The company has more than 500 outlets across the UK and will take delivery of 60 cars on a four-year term that includes a full maintenance contract.

A whole-life cost policy was introduced as part of the agreement, which HR Director for Caffe Nero, Paul Kennedy, said would "allow us to identify efficiencies and make cost savings."
