The move nudges the car down by one BIK band to 15% and also sees a 5.1mpg improvement in official fuel economy to 72.4mpg.

The equivalent Tourer estate model also gets lower emissions and improved fuel economy. It drops from 116g/km to 110g/km when fitted with the same engine, also falls one BIK band and records a 3.1mpg increase to a new official 67.3mpg.

Mazda initially said the 104g/km 6 would be available in April 2013, following the model's launch in January.
