Mercedes upgrades Service app

Date: 27 August 2013   |   Author: Jack Carfrae

Mercedes has updated its Service app to allow drivers and operators to locate a dealer, view prices and book a service in real time.

The tool allows users to book their vehicles in at a dealer for major or minor services, MoTs, diagnostic checks and fixed-price repairs.

The app, which is available for Apple iOS and Android Smartphones, will generate a fixed price for the service required after the customer has entered the vehicle registration, mileage and specified exactly which service they want.

It also gives customers four options of varying cost, dubbed Life, Lounge, Drive and Collect.

Life is described as the "drop and go" value option and allows drivers to leave the car between 8am and 10am and collect it after 4.30pm; Lounge means drivers can stay in the dealership with access to wi-fi and other amenities; Drive offers an insured courtesy car while the main vehicle is being serviced; and Collect involves collection and delivery of the vehicle from the driver's home or workplace.
