MG announces CO2 fall for MG6

Date: 15 October 2013   |   Author:

MG Motor has announced a 10g/km fall in emissions for its 2.0-litre diesel MG6 upper medium model, taking it to 129g/km.

As well as dropping the car by two benefit-in-kind tax bands, the fall from 139g/km also means a lower Vehicle Excise Duty band, saving £125 on first registration and £20 a year in subsequent years.

The reduction has, according to MG, been achieved by bringing parts production in-house and therefore optimising the engineering rather than relying on third-party suppliers as it had previously done.

The firm is currently offering free spec upgrades on the MG6 during the fourth quarter of the year, so the SE version with satnav, rear parking sensors and cruise control is available for £16,995, while the TSE adds front parking sensors, 18-inch alloys, leather trim, heated seats and auto lights and wipers for an additional £1200.
