New Mazda 3 revealed

Date: 10 July 2013   |   Author: Rachel Burgess

Mazda has revealed its latest 3 model, which features its Skyactiv technology and Kodo "soul of motion" design.

The lower medium five-door model, which goes on sale in autumn this year, is intended to "raise the bar for this key passenger segment", said the carmaker.

As well as its styling, the Mazda 3 has a redesigned interior for maximum comfort and usability and features idle-stop and brake energy-regeneration systems.

Mazda refused to reveal exact CO2 emissions or efficiency, but it's expected to easily reach sub-100g/km figures with fuel consumption in the region of 80mpg.

"Everything about the all-new Mazda3 is exciting, from the way it looks and feels to its dynamic performance, nimble responsiveness, reliability and operating costs," said Mazda Motor Europe president Jeff Guyton.
