Nissan Leaf upgraded

Date: 07 March 2013

Nissan has upgraded its Leaf electric car to extend the car's range, increase boot space, decrease the recharge time and offer a better suspension set-up for European roads. The changes will be introduced to Leaf production at the Sunderland factory this spring.

The Leaf's range is increased from 109 to 124 miles thanks to several smaller changes to the car's technical systems rather than by changing the battery. The charge time for those Leaf drivers using a 32amp electricity supply has been cut from eight to four hours thanks to an optional 6.6kW charger in the revised car. And by moving the charging kit to the front of the car from the rear, the luggage space has been increased by 40 litres to 370 litres.

Equipment levels have also been improved and Nissan's Around View Monitor, which offers a 360-degree view around the car for parking is now available.
