The start point for the best source of fleet information

RAC bags first accident management deal with British Gas

Date: 12 July 2013

The RAC has announced its first major accident management contract, following its return to the sector in May this year.

The five-year deal with British Gas to provide repair management services for its 15,000-strong fleet begins in July, following a competitive tender.

Jim Monteith, head of accident management at the RAC, said: "We are delighted to be working with British Gas to support their impressive fleet and operational arm.

"The main focus for fleet operations remains effective risk management and cost control - something that is at the heart of our new service."

Meanwhile, the RAC has launched a fuel card for small and medium-sized businesses. Cardholders will be able to fill up at more than 2000 outlets, chosen for their lower-priced fuel.

The RAC Business Club Fuel Card also offers up to 45 days' credit, to help cashflow, which is more than the double the terms of most other fuel cards, claimed the RAC.

Head of operations development Dan Sparks said: ?"We aim to give more control and convenience with a closed national network to help drivers use lower priced supermarket forecourts as often as possible.

"And by giving up to 45 days' credit we can help SMEs maintain optimal cash flow - something that is increasingly important in the current economic climate."
