Seat reveals three-door Leon

Date: 07 March 2013

Seat has revealed a three-door sports coupe version of its popular lower-medium Leon.

Named the Leon SC, the wheelbase is shortened by 35mm compared with its five-door sibling, but rear headroom and boot space of 380 litres remain the same.

It will offer 105hp 1.2, 140hp 1.4 and 180hp 1.8 petrol engines alongside 105hp 1.6 and 150hp 2.0 diesel units. The most fleet-friendly 1.6-litre TDI with stop/start will emit 99g/km of CO2 and offer 74.3mpg.

Trims S, SE and FR match the five-door Leon. Despite the shorter wheelbase and the sports styling, Seat claims that the coupe has as much rear headroom and the same amount of boot space as the conventional five-door Leon.

A third Leon model, the ST estate version, will follow next yuear.
