Mileage and fuel specialist TMC has launched a new mileage-capture app for its customers, designed to improve the accuracy of business journey data.
In addition to mileage reporting, the app can also upload photos of fuel receipts via a smartphone's camera and there is an additional expenses feature, which allows users to record food, accomodation and other business journey costs.
It's available for free on Android, Apple, Blackberry and Windows phones and can be downloaded from www.tmcuk.co.uk.
Paul Jackson, managing director of TMC, said: "Smartphone apps are revolutionising the way businesses handle fuel and mileage.
"Now that two out of three people in the UK carry a smartphone, every business can log its employees' mileage easily and accurately, and without having to invest in costly fixed or plug-in technology in their vehicles.
"In our experience drivers are more than happy to install the app on their personal handset if their company doesn't yet issue app-enabled business phones. More and more employers now provide staff with smartphones, though."
