Vauxhall ponders 2WD Country Tourer

Vauxhall is exploring the possibility of bringing in a front-wheel drive version of its new Insignia Country Tourer specifically due to demand from the business car sector.
The Country Tourer is a raised and plastic-clad version of the Insignia Sport Tourer, aimed at the Audi A4 Allroad and VW Passat Alltrack, and all models in the range are fitted with four-wheel drive, which means the entry point from a CO2 point of view is 147g/km for the manual version of the 2.0-litre 163hp model. That compares with 119g/km for the regular Insignia Sport Tourer with the same engine.
"Fleets have said they are great lovers of these types of cars but the CO2 is a little high," said Vauxhall's head of carline and brand Stuart Harris. "We are investigating a two-wheel drive version that would bring the CO2 right down, and that could come in the new year."
