Citroen reveals new Cactus crossover

Date: 07 February 2014   |   Author: Jack Carfrae

Citroen has pulled the wraps off its all-new crossover, the C4 Cactus.

The model marks the French firm's first move into the popular segment, and although exact engine details have yet to be confirmed, the lowest-emitting diesel version will produce 82g/km and an official 91.1mpg.

There will also be a petrol version with less than 100g/km.

Citroen says the Cactus is 200kg lighter than the existing C4 hatchback and it includes technology such as a passenger airbag mounted in the roof, rather than the dashboard and a touch-screen instrument cluster to replace conventional dashboard buttons.

It will have a 358-litre boot, and equipment will include an automatic parking function and a reversing camera.
