Kia has unveiled its revised 2014 Sportage model, which the firm claims will borrow largely from the outgoing models.

The engine line-up remains the same, but Kia has added new variants in the form of the all-wheel drive 2.0 CRDi in entry level spec, and a new top-spec version of the turbowheel drive 1.7 diesel. The cleanest 1.7-litre turbodiesel unit continues to offer 135g/km in emissions and 54.3mpg in combined economy.

Outside, an enhanced version of the Sportage's 'tiger-nosed' grille features as well as new styling to the central radiator mesh design. New 16-, 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels have also been fitted to all grades, with the Sportage coming with a full-size spare wheel as standard, while improved windscreen glass has been implemented to help minimise ambient noise. In addition to this, new rear LED lights offer enhanced illumination, while high end grades are also fitted with a shark-fin antenna on the roof.

Inside, a new soft paint finish has been added to the dashboard as well as repositioned door-mounted audio tweeters. All versions will also feature systems such as Trailer Stability Assist, Flex Steer and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System as standard as well. Additionally, a heated steering wheel and power adjustable seating have been added to top spec models, while selected models feature a new 7-inch touch-screen system that offers sat-nav with motorway junction views, lane guidance, speed limit warnings and multi-route planning.

Starting at £17,495 for the entry-level 1.6 litre petrol unit, the 2014 Sportage will be available from February.
