Vauxhall and Renault have released the first pictures of their respective Vivaro and Trafic medium vans, which are the result of a collaboration between the two brands.

Both models will make their debuts at the Commercial Vehicle Show at the NEC Birmingham in April.

Power for both models comes from two new Renault-developed turbo-diesel engines: a 1.6-litre with 90hp and 115hp, and a 1.6 bi-turbo with outputs of 120hp or 140hp. Preliminary data puts combined consumption for the 120hp unit at 47mpg.

The vans are available in two lengths, 4998 and 5398mm, both 216mm longer than the first-generation models. Renault says 270 variants of the new Trafic will be available.

Like the Vivaro, the Trafic comes in two lengths, two heights and in panel van, crew-cab, platform cab and minibus guises as well as in a range of approved conversions.
