Ford reveals leading-Edge SUV

Date: 01 July 2014

Ford will add a larger SUV to its line-up next year, with the Edge slotting in above the Kuga when it arrives in autumn 2015. Coming with a choice of 180hp and 210hp versions of the firm's 2.0-litre diesel, the former being a manual with emissions of 149g/km - 10g/km better than the automatic-only latter - the Edge also features a raft of optional technology new to Ford in Europe, including Active Noise Cancellation, which employs three mics in the cabin to generate opposing sound waves through the audio system to "enhance the overall engine sound and cabin ambience".

"The all-new Edge will deliver more room for passengers than large competitor SUVs that cost considerably more," said Ford's European marketing, sales and
service boss Roelant de Waard.
