Ford has made revisions to its Kuga for the 2015 model year with a more powerful and efficient diesel unit as well as a new petrol.
Its 2.0-litre diesel - which according to Ford has accounted for 95% of all UK Kuga sales this year - will have a facelift and a new power option that will appeal to fleets.
The most efficient option in the Kuga range is the 2.0-litre 150hp manual, which has had a 12.2% reduction in CO2 to 122g/km on the front-wheel drive model.
There have also been improvements on the higher-powered 180hp 2.0-litre diesel with a 19g/km reduction in CO2 to 135g/km.
There is a slight price increase for the diesel models in the range; the front-wheel drive 150hp model is £295 more expensive than its outgoing counterpart, while the more powerful manual version's price is increased by £330, and the four-wheel drive version is £280 more expensive than the current model.
The blue oval is also introducing a new engine to the range - its 150hp 1.5-litre Ecoboost petrol unit - which replaces the 1.6-litre petrol in the current range. The new engine emits 143g/km CO2, which Ford claims is a 7% improvement over the outgoing unit.
Ford's Sync with Applink voice activation software features in the updated Kuga. Currently it is compatible with music-streaming services Spotify, Audioteka, Glympse and Radioplayer.
