The start point for the best source of fleet information

Honda targets two-wheel deals

Date: 15 October 2014   |   Author: John Mahoney

Honda is claiming to be the first manufacturer in the country to offer a network of dealers that specialise in fleet sales for motorcycles.

Six Honda motorcycle dealers, in locations such as Surrey and Peterborough, have been given corporate sales status.

Each specialist will be tasked with targeting local businesses and selling the benefits of replacing company cars with motorcycles.

The dealers will also offer their corporate customers a new Honda contract hire product specifically created for businesses.

Honda hopes motorcycles will be seen as a genuine alternative to company cars since they offer considerable cost savings over their four-wheel alternatives, including low purchase price and lease costs, strong residual values, cheap road tax, and exemption from congestion charges. Users will also benefit from low benefit-in-kind taxation.

Honda also points out that in the right circumstances a fleet of motorcycles also increases productivity, thanks to less time stuck in traffic jams.

"There are so many compelling benefits to doing business on two wheels, presenting a real opportunity for the UK market," said Honda's motorcycle boss Nick Campolucci. "Formalising our fleet offering in this way gives us a real focus on giving the specialist advice and support our corporate customers need and deserve."
