The start point for the best source of fleet information

Hyundai reveals first i20 production images

Following on from the teaser sketches issued last week, Hyundai has released images showing the new i20 supermini ahead of its world debut at the Paris motor show in October.

The new i20 sits on a brand new platform that has a 45mm longer wheelbase than the outgoing model. It has also been designed and tested in Europe; the intention is that it will move the brand upowards of the brand and build a wider customer-base.

The Korean car maker has also released more information about the car. They claim that it has class-leading interior space, which also boasts a panoramic sunroof that, claims Hyundai, is unique in the highly competitive b-class segment.  Boot space is also segment leading - 326 litres in total.

Hyundai will be hoping the new i20 can build on the Korean brand's recent fleet success. At the end of 2013, the firm sat in ninth place for fleet registrations, between Nissan and Citroen, though the i20 didn't figure among the three Hyundai models in the top 50 fleet sellers.

The lower medium i30 ranked in position 23, while the ix35 was at 30 and the i10 city car made it to number 48.
