Mercedes reveals 2014 C-class prices

Date: 11 February 2014   |   Author: Martin Gurdon

Mercedes-Benz is preparing for the June launch of its fourth-generation C-class compact executive range by announcing prices and engine choices.

Initially, buyers can opt for the entry-point 1991cc four-cylinder petrol C200 at £26,855 and 2143cc four-cylinder diesel C220 Bluetec costing £29,365. Six-speed manual or seven-speed automatics will be offered.

Mercedes-Benz is quoting prices for SE specification cars, but the range will be broadened with Sport and AMG derivatives, and expanded with C200 and C250 Bluetec variants and a C300 Bluetec hybrid.

Standard kit across the range will include intuitive touchpad controls for entertainment functions and two-zone air conditions, and a media interface between the front and rear seats.

The car can be driven in four modes, biased towards economy, comfort or performance, as well as an intuitive 'individual' setting.

Buyers will also be able to choose from a variety of options packages that add elements such as glass roofs and memory seats. Mercedes claims the model will be one of the best equipped in its highly competitive class.
