Mazda has revealed the pricing and specification for its new Mazda 2. It will be priced from £11,995 and will go on sale in the UK in the first quarter.

Two engines power the new Mazda 2 – a 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel unit. The entry-level petrol 75hp SE model, which emits 110g/km and is in the 15% BIK tax band.

The more powerful 90hp model emits 105g/km CO2, and is priced from £13,995 in SE-L trim, while the top-of the range 115hp Sport Nav model costs from £15,995 and emits 117g/km CO2.

The diesel 105hp SE-L model costs from £15,995 and emits 89g/km CO2. The top-spec Sport Nav edition costs from £17, 395. The firm has not released any mpg figures yet.

Five trim levels are offered – SE, SE-L, Sport and Sport Nav will be offered, and the company said its model is the first in the segment to offer a head-up display.

The Japanese car maker is also offering a 7-inch touchscreen with a sat-nav, which offers three years of free updates.
