Real-time traffic website relaunched for public authorities

Date: 14 November 2014   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Roadworks.org has relaunched its website which provides real-time updates on incidents, road closures, diversions and roadworks.

The website was originally started in 2003 as a way of local authorities publishing roadworks information ahead of the Traffic Management Act.

It now claims to be a national integrated traffic information hub and includes live-feeds from Google, the GHighways Agency, regional traffic authorities in London and Manchester and 169 of the 175 highway authorities in England.

"We never imagined when we re-launched roadworks.org in 2011 that a small regional roadworks site could become the powerful national platform of integrated traffic management information that it is today." - Keith Davenport, chairman roadworks.org.
