Rupert Pontin appointed as head of valuations at Glass's

Date: 12 November 2014   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Automotive data expert Glass's has appointed Rupert Pontin as its new head of valuations, replacing Richard Parkin.

Pontin re-joined Glass's in April 2013, having worked for the firm in the 1990s, and was previously chief car editor, but now steps up in the wake of his predecessor's departure in the direction of accountancy firm Grant Thorton as part of its automotive umbrella.

"This is an exciting time for Glass's," he said. "Working in a fast paced and ever developing market means we must be committed to working closely with our customers to provide solutions that really make a difference to their business."

Richard Parkin has moved to Grant Thornton's Automotive practice, which looks to offer advisory services to the industry.

"His specific expertise in vehicle residual values will be very relevant with regard to the various transactional advisory work we deliver," said Grant Thornton Automotive Advisory partner Tarun Mistry.
