Skoda Fabia estate to be priced from £12k

Date: 13 November 2014   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Skoda has confirmed prices of its third-generation Fabia estate. It will go on sale in March 2015 priced from £12,460.

It carries a £1800 premium over the five-door model, and is around £1300 cheaper than an equivantly specified Rapid Spaceback model.

Skoda said its new Fabia estate is larger and stronger than the outgoing model but is 65kg lighter than the predecessor. It also claims the new Fabia is 17% more efficient than before. The most efficient launch model is the 1.0-litre 75hp model although a Greenline version will be added during 2015.

Seats up, its load volume is 530 litres - which the Czech car maker claims is a sector best - while its load volume with the seats down is 1395 litres.  A Seat Ibiza estate's load volume is 430 litres with the seats up and 1164 liters.

Skoda also says the passenger area is 21mm wider and 8mm than in the previous model.

The estate model accounts for 25% of all Fabia sales worldwide, and the firm expects its 1.2-litre 90hp petrol engine to be the most popular model in the UK. It will cost from £15,090 and has fits into the 14% BIK bracket.

"The Fabia estate has always represented terrific value for money and I'm delighted that we're able to offer even more with the third-generation model," said Alasdair Stewart, brand director for Skoda UK.

Steward also told BusinessCar that Skoda is hoping to 'open doors' for more fleet business with the Fabia estate.
