Date: 14 August 2014   |   Author:

US electric car manufacturer Tesla has launched its second supercharger point in the UK at the Hyatt Regency Birmingham.

The new charging station joins Tesla's fledgling supercharging network which launched in London at the Hyatt Regency on Portman Square.

Tesla allows its customers to charge their cars for free, for life as part of its offering and they can charge their Model S luxury saloon from a 0 to 170 mile range in 30 minutes.

Georg Ell, Tesla's UK country director, said: "This Birmingham location signifies our first move out of London in recognition of the fantastic support in the area.

"We will open a store in coming months offer Midlands-based Model S owners a convenient local service."

Tesla has now launched 168 superchargers worldwide.
