Toyota reveals 75g/km Yaris Hybrid supermini

Date: 04 June 2014   |   Author: Jack Carfrae

Toyota has confirmed that the revised version of the Yaris Hybrid supermini will offer emissions of 75g/km, which make it the only non-plug-in car on sale eligible for the 100% London Congestion Charge discount.

It will also be the only non-electric model in the 5% company car BIK band.

The change sees a 4g/km drop from the outgoing car's emissions low of 79g/km, while official fuel economy increases from 81mpg to 85.6mpg.

Toyota claims to have made the reductions by fitting smaller 15-inch wheels and tweaking the hybrid system.

This version, which includes styling and interior updates, will be available from September along with a revised 1.0-litre petrol model, the engine for which is borrowed from the new Aygo city car, and will emit 99g/km.

The capital's congestion charge was revised last year and exemption is only given to cars that emit less than 76g/km. The previous limit was 100g/km.
