Used car values remain steady in November, says mycarcheck.com

Date: 25 November 2014   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Vehicle data provider mycarcheck.com has revealed its used car buying tips for November.

The firm's 'highly desirable' suggestion is Volkswagen's Golf GTD, saying its looks, fuel economy and build quality mean values are rock solid.

Skoda's Yeti is the 'safe bet' suggestion, with the company saying the 4x4 in the right specification will be popular in the used car market, while the Mercedes ML is the 'used star', with the car-checking service saying the German 4x4 offers exceptional quality and value.

The car choices are informed by the company's data but picked by one person.

"We've kept most used values steady for November, with only convertibles seeing a seasonal dip of around 2%. Any bargain 4x4s that come into the market will be quickly snapped up, as they're looking a safe bet as we head towards winter," said Gavin Amos, head of valuation services at mycarcheck.com.

"As the clocks go back, values in the used car market historically feel the pinch. Buyers increasingly focus on Christmas, with any disposable income and free weekend time being spent in the shops rather than in car dealerships," said Amos.
