Alphabet reappointed as Crown Commercial Service framework supplier

Date: 24 June 2015   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Top-three BC50 leasing company Alphabet has been reappointed as a supplier for the Crown Commercial Services vehicle lease and framework for a further three years.

The Crown Commercial Service is a public sector organisation which acts on behalf of the Government to save the taxpayer money through procurement efficiencies.

Its procurement arrangements can be used by public sector organisations including those in the local Government, health, education, not-for-profit and devolved administration arenas, as well as the central Government.

Alphabet claimed that nearly three quarters of its public sector business has been transacted through the CCS framework.

Government departments are required to buy vehicles through the agreement, but other public sector organisations can choose whether to use the agreement or form different arrangements.

Several car makers, including Audi, BMW, Jaguar Land Rover and Hyundai were appointed as suppliers to the service in January.

"This allows Alphabet to continue the work we've been doing in partnership with a number of public sector organisations to help them meet their mobility needs, as well as achieve their financial, environmental and efficiency objectives," said Dean Hedger, head of public services at Alphabet.
