Auto Windscreens acquires AA glass business

Date: 05 August 2015   |   Author:

Auto Windscreens has bought the Autowindshields glass repair and replacement business from the AA for an undisclosed sum.

A spokeswoman for Auto Windscreens said the acquisition opens up the AA's five million members to Auto Windscreens, with the deal including a 10-year contract for Auto Windscreens to supply services to the AA membership, plus its business-to-business and insurance customers.

"This marks the beginning of a new and exciting chapter for Auto Windscreens and further re-enforces our position as leader in the industry," said Auto Windscreens managing director Chris Thornton.

The current AA Autowindshields office in Preston and 200 staff will be "integrated with Auto Windscreens", according to the official statement.
