Chrysler axed in UK from 2017

Chrysler has confirmed it is withdrawing from the UK from 2017.
In 2014, the firm registered 1982 vehicles in the UK, 21% down on 2013's figure.
"Our dealers have formally been given 24 months notice, so the latest possible date that the firm will be operating in the UK will be 15 March 2017," a Chrysler spokesman told BusinessCar.
Chrysler did not make it into the top 30 fleet manufactures in 2014.
The 30th placed firm, Subaru achieved 854 fleet registrations last year, while Chrysler's sister brand Jeep hit 1761 registrations, up 81.9% on 2013's figure.
Fiat Chrysler Automobile refused to comment further. Jeep has become the lead brand for Chrysler Jeep in the UK with new models such as Cherokee boosting growth by 75.3% to 3909 units last year.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles UK recently announced it has expanded Steve Zanlunghi's role as managing director to include a Europe-wide role for Jeep.
Zanlunghi is now head of the Jeep brand for Europe, the MiddleEast and Africa as well as the boss for Fiat Group in the UK and Ireland.
He will replace Chris Ellis who is taking on new responsibilities within the group.
