The start point for the best source of fleet information

DFS cuts fleet emissions by 13%

Date: 07 July 2015   |   Author: Tristan Young

DFS has seen a drop in emissions for cars replaced in the past three years from 131.0g/km to 113.8g/km, according to Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions which took over the account in 2012.

Hitachi claims the drop has come about thanks to a multi-brand approach, and claims further improvements will be made as the remaining older vehicles are replaced over the next 12 months. DFS runs a total fleet of more than 450 cars. The whole fleet now has an average CO2 figure of 116.9g/km.

Once these remaining vehicle have been delivered DFS's fleet CO2 average will sit 23.3% below the 2012 figure at 100.5g/km.

Andrew Stephenson, HR director at DFS, said: "Hitachi Capital continues to deliver against the challenging brief of saving the company money, reducing environmental impact but maximising options for drivers.  We now have savings presented alongside a comprehensive selection of vehicles. This creates a win-win situation for employees, who have more vehicle choice but can maintain or reduce tax and running costs."
