The Department for Transport has announced a £1 million investment to create 15 car club projects across the country.
The investment is part of a £3.9 million package to boost environmentally friendly transport options.
The DfT said the car club scheme aims to cut the number of car journeys made as part of the Car Club Development in England programme.
In November, four car clubs were created with funding from the DfT from a shortlist of 13 clubs. "This extra money means those areas that were unsuccessful on the first occasion are now being reconsidered for receiving some funding," a DfT spokesman told BusinessCar.
