ICFM conference: Membership grows

Date: 18 November 2015   |   Author:

The Institute of Car Fleet Management is moving towards its goal of hitting 1000 members, chairman Paul Hollick told a packed annual conference late last month, with a 5% increase in 2015 taking it past the 750 mark.

The conference, held at the Williams Formula One team headquarters in Grove, Oxfordshire, was attended by a record 197 delegates, who heard from a crammed programme of industry and celebrity speakers ahead of the presentation of ICFM qualifications to 34 members.

Hollick told delegates that other institute objectives include improving the ICFM's interactions
with other industry bodies such as the Association of Car Fleet Operators, the British Vehicle and Rental Leasing Association and the Freight Transport Association, bringing further freshness into its training, working harder on development to help members stay abreast of new topics, and making the ICFM more accessible to new members and those in support service roles such as leasing or accident management.

"We continue to focus on our vision of becoming the qualification required to be a fleet decision-maker - the de facto stamp of approval that you can do the job - and to make fleet management a fully recognised vocation," he said. "Employers then search out this qualification when employing a new fleet manager just like they would do for an accountant, an architect or a lawyer."
