Jaguar adds AWD option to diesel XE

Jaguar has introduced a four-wheel-drive option to its XE 3-series rival which is priced from £33,825 and is available to order now.
Available only with a 180hp 2.0-litre diesel engine and an automatic gearbox the new model emits 123g/km of CO2 and returns 60.6mpg, compared with the automatic rear-wheel-drive version's 109g/km of CO2 and 67.3mpg figures.
The AWD system also includes the company's 'Adaptive Surface Response' system, which has been developed from Jaguar Land Rover's Terrain Response system and maximizes traction according to the type of surface the car is on.
Meanwhile, the 2017 model-year XE will feature the company's InControl Pro media system, which uses a 10.2-inch touchscreen. Features include a navigation system that can tell if the driver is running late, a wifi hotspot for up to eight devices and compatibility with wearable devices.
New driver assistance technology fitted to the XE includes an Adaptive Speed Limiter feature, which uses traffic sign recognition software to automatically increase or decrease the speed of the car when the accelerator pedal is pressed.
The XE also adds a Driver Condition Monitor system, which can show multi-stage warnings in the instrument panel when the vehicle detects the motorist is tired suggesting that the driver takes a break.
