Jeep adds new engine to Cherokee 4x4 range

Date: 12 August 2015   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Jeep has added a new diesel motor to its Cherokee range, replacing the 170hp 2.0-litre diesel unit.

The new 2.2-litre engine is available in both 185hp and 200hp states of tune. The more powerful version emits 160g/km of CO2 and returns 46.3mpg, while the lower-powered option achieves 49.6mpg and produces 150g/km of CO2.

The new engine comes mated to Jeep's nine-speed automatic gearbox and its four-wheel-drive system as standard.

Jeep also added more standard equipment to the 4x4, including an electric tailgate and an automatic anti-dazzle rear-view mirror with built-in microphone.

The new models are available to order now, with the Cherokee range starting at £26,095 for the 2.0 Multijet II 140 hp Longitude FWD manual, rising to £37,995 for the 2.2 Multijet II 200 hp Limited 4WD automatic.
