Kia launches facelifted Rio and Venga

Kia has revealed facelifted versions of its Rio supermini and Venga mini-MPV. Both cars are on sale now, with the Rio priced from £10,345 and the Venga is priced from £11,995 for the base-spec petrol unit.
Engine-wise, the Rio's line-up is unchanged. it includes diesels a 74hp, 1.1-litre which emits 86g/km and achieves 88.3mpg, which Kia claimed is better than any non-electric car on sale in the UK, including hybrids and special-edition eco models.
The Rio is also offered with a 1.4-litre 89hp oil burner, which emits 98g/km CO2 and returns 70.6mpg. Petrol-wise, it is offered with an 84hp 1.25-litre unit, which emits 115g/km CO2, equating to 56.5mpg. A 107hp 1.4-litre petrol unit, delivering 53.6mpg and 114g/km, will also power the Rio.
Styling-wise, the Rio has redesigned bumpers, new upholstery and fascia and new alloys, as well as additional equipment including a DAB digital radio, which is standard on all versions of the model.
The facelifted Venga has restyled front and rear ends, which Kia said helps gives the car a sporty look, as well as new alloy wheels and upgraded interior. Tyre pressure monitoring is now standard, too.
Two petrol and two diesel engines power the facelifted model. Petrol-wise, the 89hp 1.4-litre unit emits 130g/km CO2, returning 50.4mpg, and the 123hp 1.6-litre unit emits 139g/km CO2 and returns 47.9mpg.
Diesel-wise, the 1.4-litre 89hp model emits 119g/km CO2 and returns 62.8mpg, while the 114hp 1.6-litre oil-burner emits 117g/km CO2 and returns 64.2mpg.
