Kia previews next-generation Optima with new concept

Date: 10 February 2015   |   Author:

Kia has given a hint at what its next Optima will look like with a new upper-medium concept.

The saloon concept will be on display at next month's Geneva motor show on 3 March.

The concept is the 11th to come out of Kia's European design studio in Frankfurt, Germany and the brand will be hoping to bolster its performance in the fleet market with the new model.

The Kia Sportage is currently the South Korean brand's best fleet performer, breaking into the top 30 fleet models last year with 12,053 units sold to business drivers.

The Ceed is Kia's only other model within the top 50 fleet models sold last year, with 8527 units going to the corporate market.

Kia saw a 4.4% rise in fleet sales in the UK last year to 34,575 units in total, taking it to 13th place. The performance puts it ahead of Renault, Volvo and Honda and just behind Skoda.

BusinessCar ran the current generation Kia Optima as a long-termer over a year. Read our long-term reports here.
