Lex adds 2000th electric vehicle to fleet

Date: 23 June 2015   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Lex Autolease has added its 2000th electric vehicle to its fleet, a Nissan e-nv200 commercial vehicle.

The vehicle was delivered to Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The Trust said that moving to electric vehicles could result in efficiency savings as well as reductions in emissions.

The vehicle will be used to transport goods between the Trust's four main sites and community locations.

Lex claims it is responsible for around 7% of electric vehicles on UK roads, which it said is the largest fleet of its kind.

"At Lex Autolease, we strive to introduce environmentally and financially friendly technologies, so the delivery of our 2000th plug-in electric vehicle is a considerable milestone for us," said Chris Chandler, principal consultant at Lex Autolease. "We anticipate significant growth in alternative fuel vehicle registrations as more businesses and organisations become more informed of the benefits."
