Lex Autolease secures Driveaway deal with Shepherd FM

Date: 09 January 2015

Shepherd FM, the UK facilities management company, has taken on a four-year sole supply deal with Lex Autolease for nine Vauxhall Vivaro Sportive models.

The lease deal was put together with Lex's new off-the-shelf Driveaway package which offers industry-specific vehicles modified for for construction, facilities management, electrical and heating, ventilation & air conditioning trades.

The move follows Shepherd's recent contract win to deliver mechanical and electrical maintenance to TNT Express, the global express delivery company.

The Vivaro's will be used for TNT Express' mobile engineering teams to travel between the company's 70 UK sites.

The racking on the vans has been designed in partnership with industry bodies to transport essential kit and equipment safely.

Noel Clancy, Shepherd Facilities Management chief executive, said: "Winning a contract with TNT Express was a real achievement for us, but meant we had to quickly re-evaluate our commercial vehicle assets.

"The process of ordering vehicles and then having them fitted out separately can be lengthy and costly. The vehicles [from Lex] were ready to be driven as soon as they were delivered, meaning our drivers were out on the road doing their job as quickly as possible."

Clancy estimates a 20% saving by not having to ordering and convert the ordered vans separately.
