The start point for the best source of fleet information

Majority of London parking appeals successful, says FTA

Date: 15 June 2015   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Just under three quarters of all parking appeals in London were successful, according to the Freight Transport Association.

The FTA surveyed its members to gather information on issues such as parking fine hot spots, CCTV and penalty charge notice appeals.

According to the FTA, 15 companies provided data about 32,633 parking fines they had received over a 12-month period.

The industry body said 72% of the fines that were contested by its PCN Administration service were successful.

The borough of Bromley topped the list of hotspots for the issuing of PCNs. The most frequent reason for a ticket being issued was 'stopped where prohibited' with more than a third (36%) of tickets being issued for this reason, while a third of tickets were handed out for parking or loading where restrictions are in force.
