Mazda predicts 25% increase in fleet sales

Mazda is forecasting that its fleet sales are going to grow by a quarter in 2015/2016 thanks to what the firm calls a "new model blitz", including the introduction of the CX-3 crossover and MX-5 sports car.
Mazda's head of fleet, Steve Tomlinson is predicting that fleet sales will top 15,000 units in 2015/2016.
In the last 12 months to 31 March 2015, Mazda's fleet sales totaled 11,876 registrations, up by 43% on the previous year. Mazda said demand for its 6 model rose by 10%, while the 3 was five times more popular than the previous generation model.
The company said the boom in fleet sales is also thanks to its Skyactiv technology, which cuts emissions and saves fuel. The technology will feature in all models following the arrival of the MX-5 in the summer.
Mazda does not currently have model within the top 50 fleet registrations list, however it is in the top 30 manufacturers list, in 21st with 13,774 registrations in 2014.
"I am confident that we will see a further major increase in fleet sales in 2015/16, potentially a 25% increase," said Tomlinson. "Skyactiv is driving demand for Mazda cars".
