Nissan has posted what it calls its strongest ever results for March and Q1 in the fleet sector, up 34% and 37% year-on-year respectively.

The Japanese manufacturer registered 13,565 cars in March and 22,761 in Q1 to fleets. It claimed it now ranks fifth in the UK fleet car sales chart. In 2014, the firm was the seventh best-selling fleet manufacturer with 63,358 registrations.

It also registered 2306 LCVs to fleet customers in March (up 8% year-on-year) and 3522 (up 17% year-on-year) in Q1, while the firm's Leaf's registrations were up 63% compared to March 2014.

"Nissan has enjoyed significant and sustained growth in the fleet sector in recent years and these latest numbers - our best ever - put us among the biggest fleet car manufacturers," said Barry Beeston, corporate sales director at Nissan.
