Nissan unveils Sway hatchback concept at Geneva

Date: 03 March 2015   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Nissan has revealed its Sway compact hatchback concept at the Geneva motor show, which hints at the firm's future design language.

Nissan said the Sway has been designed to appeal to the European market, with "edginess". Parts of the car draw inspiration from the Nissan Lannia concept shown at Beijing last year, while the interior is inspired by the IDx show car from the 2013 Tokyo motor show.

"We believe that the Sway continues our tradition of challenging the status quo in market segments by bringing something fresh, distinctive and striking, much as we did with Qashqai and Juke," said Shiro Nakamura, senior vice president, design and chief creative officer, Nissan.

"With this new concept car for Geneva, we are experimenting to see how Nissan might be able to bring fresh ideas to the compact hatchback segment," added Nakamura.
