Ogilvie to use Fleet Assist's service centre network

Date: 01 June 2015   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Ogilvie Fleet has signed up to use Fleet Assist's network of 7000 service centres from today (1 June).

Previously, the 12,000-strong fleet managed its own choice of dealers for company car and van service, maintenance and repair.

Fleet Assist provides clients with a nationwide network of service centres, which undertake service, maintenance and repair work on vehicles.

"It is labour intensive for Ogilvie Fleet to maintain its own network of garages. We have been on a drive to look at more efficient ways of purchasing and as we expand the fleet it becomes more cost effective to use Fleet Assist's network," said Jim Hannah, Ogilvie Fleet operations director. "Adding our fleet to the already considerable combined fleet size that Fleet Assist negotiate on behalf of, will allow us to enjoy the benefits of economies of scale notably in respect of the buying of ancillary products such as oil and brake fluid."

Hannah said his customers will continue to receive the same level of service. Ogilvie Fleet's own team will continue to manage the booking of vehicles into garages, decide the service outlets used and authorise all repairs to vehicles.
