South-east housing company acquires E-NV200s

Property company Estuary Housing has taken on two electric Nissan E- NV200 vans to manage its portfolio of 4000 homes in the south-east.

The vans will be used by maintenance teams in Southend-on-sea, and are expected to cover an average of 30 miles a day - much less than the claimed range of 106 miles.

The vehicles have been fitted with a racking system and roof-mounted pipe carrier to aid the transportation of building tools.

"As a not-for-profit organisation we obviously have to pay close attention to our bottom line and so having vehicles that are so much cheaper to run and maintain than a conventional diesel was a big attraction," said Jason Grieve, estate services maintenance manager at Estuary Housing.

"But our decision to take on the E-NV200 was not purely based on costs. As an organisation we are also committed to reducing our environmental impact and so the fact the E-NV200 offers zero emissions mobility made it a win-win for us," he added.
